Delacroix, which opens on September 17 at The Met, will be the first comprehensive retrospective in North America devoted to the artist. Your support helps the Museum bring groundbreaking exhibitions like this to life.
Delacroix is almost here.

Eugène Delacroix was among the greatest creative figures of the nineteenth century. Coming of age after the fall of Napoleon, he was an artist whose genius set the bar for the French painters that followed him. This major retrospective, a joint project with the Louvre, recently broke attendance records in Paris.

Met visitors will soon be able to delight in over 150 of Delacroix’s works, including iconic paintings such as Greece on the Ruins of Missolonghi and Women of Algiers in Their Apartment. I hope you will have the opportunity to experience Delacroix in person, but you can also stay up-to-date on the entire fall season of exhibitions by following the Museum’s extensive blogs and online features on The Met website.

Donations from friends like you help make exhibitions like this possible. That’s why I hope you will make a charitable donation to support them today.

Your generosity enables us to bring life to art, and art to lives. Thank you.
